Barrett Schmidt holds a degree in Mental Health Counselor from Richmont Graduate University. He holds a Tennessee state license and is certified as EMDR-tr. 

I help clients connect with and understand their inner parts using Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate, evidence-based approach that fosters healing through self-leadership.

I have been seeing clients since the Fall of 2022.

I am a trained EMDR therapist who specializes in Dissociation, PTSD, C-PTSD and other trauma related challenges. I teach DBT skills such as Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I also utilize tools found from within a CBT framework for accountability. I am experienced with doing marriage counseling coming from a Gottman based approach.

The demographic I work with are Teenagers, Adults, Couples and Individuals in the senior demographic. I see both male and female clients.
