Board of Ministry
Who We Are
The Board of Ministry of the North Georgia Conference of the Global Methodist Church (NGAGMC) exists to help identify, equip, and support those who are called by God into ordained ministry. We also provide ongoing encouragement, development, and accountability for clergy already serving within our connection.
Our work is rooted in the conviction that God calls both clergy and laity to serve, and that clergy leadership is essential to equipping the Church for its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Areas of Responsibility
The NGAGMC Board of Ministry oversees:
- Candidacy Process – Walking alongside those exploring a call to ministry, offering guidance and support from the first interview through credentialing.
- Examination & Approval – Evaluating candidates for readiness to serve as licensed local pastors, deacons, or elders.
- Continuing Education – Encouraging lifelong learning through approved courses, conferences, and mentoring opportunities.
- Clergy Care – Providing support networks, spiritual direction, and wellness resources for those in ministry.
- Appointment Process Support – Working with conference leadership to ensure that clergy are placed in settings where they can thrive and serve effectively.
Why The Board of Ministry Matters
Clergy are entrusted with preaching the Word, administering the sacraments, and shepherding the people of God. The Board of Ministry exists to ensure that those who step into these sacred roles are prepared, supported, and faithful to their calling. By caring for clergy, we help ensure the health and vitality of every local congregation in the North Georgia Conference.
