Transitional Leadership Council of the Global Methodist Church unanimously approved the formation of the North Georgia Provisional Annual Conference.

March 27, 2024

With May a little over a month away, we cannot wait to gather with you in Norcross for the Convening Conference of the North Georgia Provisional Annual Conference. This will be an exciting and monumental gathering as we celebrate all that God has done, is doing, and will do in the new movement of Methodism called the Global Methodist Church, particularly in North Georgia. As we await our time together, we have some great news to share with you now!

On Monday, March 25, 2024, the Transitional Leadership Council of the Global Methodist Church unanimously approved the formation of the North Georgia Provisional Annual Conference (PAC). This comes as a result of thousands of prayers, hours of hard work by innumerable people, and, above all, God’s abundant grace. It would be impossible to list all of the people that have worked diligently to see this day come to fruition. However, we would be remiss if we did not say a huge “Thank You” to the leadership of the South Georgia Provisional Annual Conference. In our time of need, they welcomed us with open arms, offered advice, and supported our Executive Leadership Team. We are eternally grateful for their support and look forward to working with them as we continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the state of GA and beyond.

Effective April 1st, 2024, Bishop Scott Jones has appointed the Rev. Dr. Kenny Ott as the President Pro Tempore of the North Georgia PAC. Additionally, those currently serving as Connectional Elders have been appointed as Presiding Elders of our 11 Districts, effective April 1st, 2024.  Over the next month, the Executive Leadership Team will transition their duties and responsibilities to the clergy and laity of the Connectional Council Executive Team to finalize the reports, policies, and processes of the PAC to be approved by the delegates of the PAC on May 3rd and 4th.  Until then, let’s continue worshipping passionately, loving extravagantly and witnessing boldly.

 Yours in Christ,
The Executive Leadership Team of NGAGMC
